Thankyou
Domo arigato gozaimashita
Thankyou very much (polite version). Said at the end of training to your training partners
Kiai
An energetic “shout” performed by martial artists when performing a technique. Used to enhance the effectiveness of the technique. It can also have the added benefit of startling or disorienting your attacker
Onegai Shimasu
“Please” or “Please train with me”. Said at the start of training
Shomen
The front of the dojo, where the scroll hangs. Symbolic of the universe.
